Hawaii’s reefs are among its most precious and fragile resources. They are living organisms that are extremely sensitive to environmental changes. There has been a forty percent decline in Hawaii’s coral reefs since 2011. Pollutants play a role in this loss, including more than 6,000 tons of sunscreens that end up in Island waters every year.

To help minimize the impact of sunscreen on Hawaii’s reefs, we have teamed up with Hawaiian Airlines on a reef preservation initiative. Beginning in April, Hawaiian Airlines will be debuting a new inflight video – Reefs at Risk – as well as providing samples of our sunscreen on all flights from North America to Hawaii. Guests will also have the option to purchase our sunscreen onboard.
